A beautifully cultivated account of this lovely woman's life . It is very real raw story but oh so beautiful written with so much grace, a melody of words, were we can see healing and redemption bringing a song of hope to all of us that long for healing of our past and hope for our future. Amazing! 

I kept reading and couldn’t put it down. It draws you in. Written very humbly. Deeply honest about her shortcomings and so is relatable. The second part of the book was really useful. I am recommending it to friends in different situations and walks of life. And those, like me, who find themselves at a dead end and are wanting to live your best life in the days to come.

Having lost my dear Mum fairly recently, I was in search of helpful books to read. This book is written so beautifully and with depth that spoke to me so profoundly I couldn't put it down. Because of this book I feel there is somewhat restored hope and clarity of altering my internal struggles of feeling so lost and hopeless. My heart health has never felt so precious and reading and understanding more about this through the love of God has inspired me to seek his love more deeply. I couldn't recommend this book enough.

As someone who grew up with a secure mother attachment, I have found Vanessa’s story of losing her mother, at such a young age, very moving. The biographical aspect of the book is well written and I really enjoyed reading about Vanessa’s early days in Africa. There is so much that I found relevant even though my upbringing and start in life has been so different.

I couldn’t put this book down. I read it in one sitting and am working my way back through it. Such an honest account of personal loss and the power of the redemptive love of Jesus. Highly recommend to anyone struggling with their identity, especially due to parental relationships.
